In case you don’t know what an escape game is, it’s sort of a puzzle game/RPG hybrid where you’re trapped in a room (it varies, though) and you have to use items found in the room to make a way out. Of course, the way isn’t always straightforward. Most of the time, you also have to solve a series of brain teasers and puzzles to access the object you need to proceed with the game.
While Linkage is easier and shorter than the last game (and fan favorite) Vision (http://neutralxe.net/esc/vision.html), it also introduces us to fancy new graphics and animation that is an improvement from past Neutral games yet is still reminiscent of his/her unique style. What I especially love about Neutral games is that they are so carefully and beautifully crafted that playing the game is never frustrating because you get to admire all the lovely details of every nook and cranny.
When I first started playing escape games, I heavily relied on walkthroughs, but now I’m quickly learning to go through an entire game by myself, and the feeling is just immensely satisfying. Even if you’re a newbie at this whole escape game business, it’s never too late to start!
