I know! I’m sorry! Been neglecting this blog a little. (understatement) I’m sure nobody noticed. I’ve been paying too much attention to my other blogs, The Lunch Buddies and Japanese Food, Filipino Tastebuds. Which you must visit! Like, now!
It’s true what they say though. It’s a lot easier to blog when the blog is about a very specific topic. I mean, unlike at the start of my blogging life when I would tell the world about every little thing I do every day, I now very minimally talk about my daily life.
Actually, I’m not sure what I talk about here any more. I mainly just apologize for not posting, promise to post more often, and then go MIA for the next three weeks.
Anyway, I haven’t been able to talk about books and movies and TV shows recently, so that’s what I’m gonna do today! Unless you have the exact same taste as me in books and movies and TV shows, this will probably be very boring.
(If you prefer looking at pictures of food, you can hop on over to the Japanese food blog where I just posted a whole bunch of photos of food!!
Hurrah!)
Rango - Today I went out with a couple of friends (DANICAR YAY!) to have lunch at Yedang Korean Restaurant on Meralco Ave. (Post will come later on The Lunch Buddies) and catch a movie at Shangri-la Plaza. There really aren’t very many good movies to choose from at this point, but we decided to watch Rango because it stars Johnny Depp! Also because it has a good timeslot, but really, it’s mainly because it stars Johnny Depp. Well, it’s just Johnny Depp’s voice, but you know, it’s Johnny Depp’s, ahem, deep sexy voice AHHHHHHHH yes. Anyway.
The movie was…. well. Confusing. It was a Western/comedy, actually. But somewhere in the middle it turned into a very philosophical movie. And then it went back to being a comedy. Still, it was plenty of fun and it was quite exciting to watch. And here’s the catch: the main character is a lizard. OOPS sorry, I mean, a chameleon. Who doesn’t really bother acting like a chameleon very much. Honestly though, it’s disturbing to watch a chameleon talking, blinking, moving like a human on screen, even if he sounds like Johnny Depp. (And he even gets a kissing scene. Come on!) Oh oh oh! The music was excellent. As expected from Hans Zimmer, of course.
Should you watch it? Actually, I think yes. Just make sure to leave your brain by the entrance.
Here’s the trailer:
Numb3rs - Who knew math could be sexy? While this TV show takes itself a little too seriously at times, it’s still quite interesting to watch. Unless you’re a math major/mathematician. In which case you would be yelling BS at the screen every 5 seconds. Ah, well. At least David Krumholtz is cute. Teehee.
Saving Fish from Drowning (by Amy Tan) – I haven’t been reading a lot lately, but I dug out this book from my cabinet and realized I haven’t even finished it. I’m currently halfway through. It’s my first Amy Tan novel and although I don’t really love it, it’s quite good.
And that’s it. This is where you go, what the? You call this a post?? YOU SUCK!
Yeah, I suck. I have an economics exam on Friday, ugh. I wanna get out of school already!!!
